A note from Natalia–”What is female rage​? Thinking of how to best portray Washington's words and music as a reflection of my own experiences, this idea kept coming back. To me, this piece and​ this term are a rebellion against the constant harassment that women face--they represent the screaming, the fighting, and the anger that society never wishes to see from female-identifying people. The clothes worn in this video were chosen to encompass this rage, as well as the two characters heard in Washington's piece. The pink--a typically ‘girlish’ color, worn from head to toe while we play the most vicious, raucous, and violent music. The black and white--a stereotypically ‘masculine’ outfit worn while playing light excerpts marked "dainty". In the pink, I felt most free to tap into this inner female rage. I hope you'll feel the same while listening to our rendition of BIG Talk."
