We are excited for Nataša Lovrić, Associate Professor (Tenure Track), in International Forest-Based Bioeconomy at the Itä-Suomen yliopisto - University of Eastern Finland (UEF), to be visiting MSU Department of Forestry and Mass Timber at MSU for 10 days. Nataša is here on an Erasmus fellowship (European Commission) to continue collaboration on policy research with Sandra Lupien that began during Sandra’s recent Fulbright Finland visit at UEF.
This Wednesday, July at 11:30 a.m. Eastern, Nataša presents a special seminar in the Natural Resources building (and virtually on Zoom). She'll discuss the European Union's green competitive economy and policies enabling the Circular and Bioeconomy transitions.

Yesterday, MassTimber@MSU took a trip to Kalamazoo College to see the progress of their new residence halls! We met with the project's architect/engineer, Progressive Companies, and Owen-Ames-Kimball, the construction manager. These buildings will primarily house juniors and seniors and include lounges, community kitchens, study areas, and other shared amenities.
It was great to see the mass timber up close, including and , supplied by SmartLam and installed by Quality Buildings LLC. We look foward to seeing this complete by next fall!

Yesterday, MSU Research Foundation announed the development of the Rosenberg Center, its new headquarters facility on campus. The facility will include startup incubation spaces, offices, collaboration areas, and a two-story, 8,000-square-foot addition.
This project is an awardee of the Michigan Mass Timber Catalyst Program funded by Michigan Department of Natural Resources and administered by MassTimber@MSU in collaboration with Michigan Green Building Collaborative and WoodWorks. We are looking forward to seeing this project come to life!
