Please join us in congratulating our colleague Lisa D. Cook on her Senate confirmation as a Governor of the Federal Reserve System. In addition to bringing her expertise in macroeconomics, innovation, and development economics to the Board, she is making history as the first African American woman on the Board.

She will also be the second faculty member connected to the MSU Economics department to serve on the Board. Andrew Brimmer was on the faculty before being named to the Board in 1966 and was the first African American to serve as a Fed governor. Congratulations and good luck, Governor Cook!
