East Rochester Union Free Schools

🏁💨 7th/8th grade and high school technology students in Mr. Page's classes recently put their engineering skills to the test during the annual CO₂ Drag Race!

As part of the project, students spent eight weeks designing, sketching, building, and refining their own drag cars before racing them down the track. Along the way, they learned about the design process, drag racing history, reaction time, and the importance of precision engineering.

This year's competition featured 76 student-built cars, reaching speeds of up to 40 mph!

🎤⚡ Another unforgettable Electric Coffeehouse is in the books!

From classic rock favorites to today's hits, ER students took the stage and showcased their incredible musical talents with the support of a live band, backup vocalists, a horn section, professional lighting, and sound.

Electric Coffeehouse has become a beloved ER tradition and a highlight of the school year. Thank you to our performers, musicians, staff, and community members for making this year's show such a success. We can't wait to do it all again next year! 🎸🎷🎶

🎓The countdown is on!

Yesterday, our seniors took their traditional Senior Walk around the bus loop, proudly donning their caps and gowns as classmates, staff, and families lined the route to cheer them on. Seniors also carried signs sharing their plans for life after graduation, giving everyone a glimpse at the exciting futures ahead of them.

Graduation just days away! Class of 2026... are you ready? 🎉👏

Congratulations to our fourth grade students for being awarded THIRD PLACE in the New York Statewide First in Math Tournament this past weekend!

The competition was held at The Empire State Plaza Convention Center in Albany. Each grade level (1-8) had 10 teams representing them from all over New York; our students competed with 9 other teams of fourth graders! The students played in three rounds of the Factor Wheels Challenge, where they had to work as a team to create wheels with a common factor. They even had to participate in a tie breaker round which landed them a spot as semi-finalists. They finished off the competition by presenting their work to a panel of judges, who then awarded them with third place!

In addition to the amazing competition experience, the students enjoyed having fun at the hotel, going out to dinner with their families, and playing UNO during down time at the competition on Saturday.
