What changes in the legal industry do you believe will have the biggest impact on clients over the next few years?

The biggest shift will be the integration of AI and data-driven tools into legal services. Clients will expect faster turnaround, predictable pricing, and proactive risk insights rather than reactive advice. At the same time, alternative service providers and in-house teams are demanding more efficiency and transparency from outside counsel. Firms that leverage technology while maintaining sound judgment will deliver better value moving from hourly billing toward outcome-based, strategic partnerships.

What is one challenge currently facing the legal profession that deserves more attention?

A major challenge is the growing gap between legal complexity and client accessibility. Laws and regulatory frameworks are expanding, but many clients struggle to understand costs, risk exposure and practical implications. The profession needs to focus more on clarity by simplifying communication, improving cost predictability, and aligning legal advice with business realities so that clients can make informed decisions without being overwhelmed.

How do you balance legal expertise with client service and relationship-building?

I focus on translating legal analysis into clear, actionable guidance tailored to the client’s goals. That means understanding their business, anticipating issues, and communicating in a way that is concise and practical. Responsiveness and transparency build trust, while strong legal judgment ensures credibility. The balance comes from not just delivering the “right answer,” but delivering it in a way that helps the client confidently move forward.
