Detroit youth feel the impacts of climate change, and they’re talking about it

Money Matters for Youth, founded by Gail Perry-Mason, is transforming Detroit’s financial education for students ages 8 to 18.

Through a five-day summer camp, participants learn budgeting, saving, investing, and giving while building portfolios, pitching business ideas, and mapping Financial Gardens.

The program’s holistic curriculum includes etiquette training, public speaking, healthy cooking, ballroom dancing, and golf lessons to prepare youth for leadership and networking.

Alumni have become franchise CEOs and venture capital professionals, demonstrating the impact of early mentorship.
