All American Bowl

Today we lost a great friend and football partner far too early. Chad Baldwin passed away from cancer at the age of 51.

For 26 seasons Chad served as coach and our Director of Coaching and Recruiting for the College All American Bowl. During that time he mentored and helped countless young athletes chase their dream of playing at the next level.

At the game this past December, Chad told me he had the feeling it might be his last. None of us wanted to believe that would be true.

When I first met Chad, he was a stud of a football player competing for my semi-pro team, the Thunderbirds.
Chad and I would joke about what it would be like (in our prime) if we met each other full throttle in the A-Gap — him playing linebacker and me at fullback. Knowing Chad, it would have been one hell of a collision. He later went on to play in the All American Bowl and then dedicated much of his life to coaching and helping other players reach the professional level.

Chad Baldwin was a true man of honor. He will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege to know him.

A great father, a loyal friend, an outstanding coach, and a mentor to many.

He was one of the very few people I could truly call a real friend.
