Truth in Sale of Housing reports are not required by all cities but they are required by many Twin City Metro cities.

As the city of Columbia Heights explains it "The Time-of-Sale (TOS) Housing Inspection Program in Columbia Heights is designed to ensure the safety and quality of residential properties within the city. By requiring inspections and corrections of immediate hazards, the program aims to protect both buyers and sellers during property transactions. Implemented through TISH programs are an essential step in maintaining the value and integrity of our housing stock. "

Some cities such as Columbia Heights and Golden Valley and Moundsivew all require an additional inspection of the sewer line. This inspection video is not only to be shared with buyers but it's also to be shared with the city for review. Sometimes the video will show what are to be considered REQUIRED sewer line repairs. These repairs will either be done prior to closing at seller's cost, or done after closing through an escrow fund paid by either party.

There are many reasons for the TISH and the additional requirements that help cities maintain infrastructure and housing quality.
