Kawana B. Jacocks is the Founder and Sr. Professional Resume Writer at WriteOne Resumes. Her passion comes from her personal interest in seeing people “WIN” due to seeing hardship first hand. Realizing, not only does a career provide money to live - it also gives some people a purpose to wake up. She noticed in her early 20’s that the job market was changing and loyalty was no longer being rewarded. “My services are for EVERYONE but I wanted to mainly provide the older generation an opportunity to continue in a competitive job market.” Noticing that professional resume services could cost between $300-600, she decided to make her services more affordable and versatile. Career documents vary depending on industry so she has expanded her expertise in varies writing styles and services:
Career Coaching
Professional/Personal Biography
Educational Summaries
KSA’s/CV’s
and much more
Her love for writing started at a very young age, writing poetry and short stories. After helping her family who suffered from mass layoffs re-enter the workforce, she took numerous classes in resume writing and career coaching to improve her talent even further. Poetry writing and resumes have somewhat of a connection since the main objective is to evoke a feeling out of the reader. That’s why 94% of WriteOne Resumes clients receive a job offer or interview within 3-6 weeks. Resumes tell a story about your professional background by focusing on results/accomplishments which is what she draws out of client’s after reviewing their background and briefly discussing their needs.
Kawana B. Jacocks manages to be apart of other organizations such as New Start Career Network (NSCN) affiliated with Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ where she volunteers as a Career Coach for the older-unemployed community. She also joined Business Connect through an organic connection with Jennifer Wilner who contacted her through Facebook. Business Connect is unlike any other networking group, it builds friendships to help each other grow and become better entrepreneurs. These unique building blocks have helped Kawana constantly improve and hone her craft.
When she’s not helping people advance their careers, she enjoys spending time with her family. “Traveling is such a fun way to spend time with family - growing up, we had limited opportunities to see the world so, I plan on making those opportunities more available for my family, parents and in-laws.” As a loving mom, supportive wife and caring daughter - she’s always making time to spend with loved ones at family events.
