Three Furosemide Alternatives for Times of Shortage

Furosemide Oral Solutions are currently listed as "unavailable" on the FDA shortage list due to lack of ingredients. In this issue, IJPC presents three alternative formulations of Furosemide Oral Liquid: Furosemide 2 mg/mL Oral Solution, Furosemide 10 mg/mL in SyrSpend SF Alka Dry, and Furosemide 2 mg/mL Oral Suspension.

These formulas will assist compounding pharmacies in preparing this essential diuretic medicine and ensuring continuity of access for pediatric and adult patients.
