Friday marked an important milestone for Green Fuels Operating as we officially broke ground on our $400 million refinery project in Duncan, Oklahoma.
This project represents more than a new facility. It's an investment in American refining, domestic energy infrastructure, and the future of Stephens County.
We're grateful to the Duncan Area Economic Development Foundation, Stephens County Commissioners, Congressman Tom Cole, Lt. Governor Matt Pinnell, the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, and the many local and state partners who helped make this day possible.
Most importantly, thank you to the Duncan community for welcoming us. We're proud to be part of the next chapter of this historic site and look forward to creating jobs, investing locally, and bringing new refining capacity back to Oklahoma.

A historic Oklahoma refinery site is entering a new era.
Tomorrow, GFO will officially break ground on the redevelopment of the Stephens County Refinery Property in Duncan, Oklahoma alongside the Duncan Area Economic Development Foundation and the Stephens County Commissioners.
Originally operating as far back as the 1920s, the refinery once served as a major regional employer and industrial hub. Following decades of closure and environmental remediation, the property is now positioned for revitalization and renewed economic impact.
At GFO, we believe in building modern energy infrastructure while honoring the legacy of the communities and sites that helped shape American industry.
We’re proud to be investing in Stephens County and grateful for the partnership and shared vision helping move this project forward.

Green Fuels Operating has successfully advanced from concept to design and is now moving into the next phase of development for its modern modular refinery platform.
Designed for efficient-scale deployment and accelerated delivery timelines, GFO facilities are projected to become operational in approximately 14–18 months following the start of construction. Through innovative engineering and scalable infrastructure, GFO is positioning itself to help meet growing domestic energy demands while supporting the expansion of America’s refining capacity.
As development progresses, GFO remains focused on building practical, forward-looking energy infrastructure designed for long-term impact.

Instead of requiring hundreds of acres for a single facility, our modular approach allows for the same throughput on a much smaller footprint — creating a more efficient and scalable path forward for domestic refining capacity.
As the nation continues losing refining capacity year after year, innovation matters more than ever.

Green Fuels Operating was honored to attend the 38th Annual Lt. Governor’s Turkey Hunt, hosted by Lt. Governor Matt Pinnell in Duncan, Oklahoma. It was a great opportunity to connect with local and state leaders and be part of such a well-run event.
GFO CEO Derek Williamson shared:
“We’re incredibly honored to be recognized by DAEDF at this outstanding event. Having seen organizations across the country, we can say without hesitation no one does it better. Lyle, Nicole, and Henry set the standard for excellence and integrity, and Stephens County and Duncan have every reason to be proud of the team representing them.”

Capacity may change. However, our footprint remains largely the same.
Whether it’s 20,000, 30,000, 50,000, or 100,000 bbl/day, our modular design stays efficient and scalable.
