There are nights when I look around the room and realize this is exactly why The Studio exists. ❤️

This sweet group of friends came together tonight to paint flamingos, but as always, it became so much more than just putting paint on canvas.

There was laughter (LOTS of laughter 😂), encouragement, snacks, stories, teasing each other about brushstrokes, celebrating happy accidents, and cheering one another on. By the end of the evening, every single flamingo had its own personality—just like the artist who painted it.

One of my favorite things about teaching isn’t creating identical paintings…it’s watching confidence grow one brushstroke at a time. Some came in convinced they “couldn’t paint,” and left carrying a piece they were genuinely proud of.

Moments like these remind me that creativity has a way of bringing people together unlike anything else. Strangers become friends, friends become family, and for a few hours the outside world gets a little quieter.

Thank you, ladies, for spending your evening with me, for trusting me to guide you, for making me laugh until my cheeks hurt, and for filling The Studio with so much joy. I already can’t wait for our next adventure together! 💕🎨

Our first Kinusaiga class was such a hit that it’s time to start planning the next one… and YOU get to help choose!

Both projects will feature the same beginner-friendly Kinusaiga technique (fabric, foam, and NO sewing!).

And for everyone who took our first class… good news! This time the foam boards will already be pre-cut for you. 😉 IYKYK. 😂 That means you’ll spend your class time creating instead of cutting hundreds of tiny lines! You’ll still learn the technique, choose your fabrics, tuck everything into place, and leave with a gorgeous Halloween piece you’ll be excited to display.

Happy Monday, creative friends!

This week’s Monday Motivation is a little different…instead of just sharing inspiration, I thought we’d create it together!

I’ve put together a step-by-step watercolor pencil tutorial so you can paint this peaceful motivational scene at your own pace. Whether you’re brand new to watercolor pencils or you’ve been using them for years, I hope you’ll grab your supplies, spend a little creative time for yourself, and start your week with intention.

I’ve also included a printable line drawing so you can jump right into coloring instead of worrying about sketching.

To save the sketch:
📱 On your phone: Tap the sketch image, then press and hold on it and choose Save to Photos (or Download Image, depending on your device).
💻 On a computer: Click the image to open it full size, then right-click and choose Save Image As…

Print it on watercolor paper (or trace it onto watercolor paper), grab your watercolor pencils, and have fun!

There’s just something about fall… the cozy colors, glowing candles, crisp evenings, and gathering around the table with the people you love. ❤️

Join us as we create a beautiful handmade centerpiece that’s sure to become one of your favorite fall decorations! During this signature Studio workshop, you’ll build your own collection of wooden pumpkins, customize them with the colors you love, and arrange everything in a rustic wooden dough bowl complete with warm fairy lights and seasonal embellishments.

No two projects will be exactly alike, and that’s the fun! Whether your style is farmhouse, traditional harvest, or soft vintage cottage, you’ll leave with a centerpiece that’s uniquely yours.
