Every transaction has a story behind it, and this one is one of the most remarkable that I’ve been associated with. In 2016, my clients, Mike and Sheila, along with their two sons and dog, were unhoused due to circumstances for which they were no way at fault. After a period of time, they were able to find an apartment, where they have resided for the last few years. During this time, they gathered their resources and made necessary sacrifices with the goal of becoming homeowners. Less than a year ago, they reached out to their lender, NFM Lending, who at the time informed them that their credit score was too low to be able to finance a mortgage, but the lender had an in-house credit repair service, which got their score up where it needed to be when I met them this past summer. Within a week, we had offered on three properties, narrowly missing out on each. But it was the fourth property that was head and shoulders above the previous three. We were able to find this fabulous home that was built less than three years ago. The house also appraised well above what Mike and Sheila had purchased it for, as an added bonus. This weekend they begin the move into their new home, and a new, brighter phase of their lives. I couldn’t be more proud to be their buyer representative.
