If there's controversy, there's controversy. Nothing worthwhile ever happened without overcoming friction. Thankfully, there are bold voices out there "telling it like it is". We all want net zero, but if you do the math, there's no practical way to get there without nuclear.
So... how might we get there from here?

Two big announcements in one day! Citizen activists were absolutely pivotal in stopping the construction of several proposed coal export terminals, and Longview... was the last domino left to fall.

Connelly: State nixes key permit for big Longview coal export terminal A big blow to Big Coal: The Washington Department of Ecology denies a key water quality permit to builders of the proposed Millennium Bulk Terminals coal export terminal in Longview. It would be the largest coal export facility in North America with a capacity of 44 million tons a year.
