El Paso residents have more opportunities to tell the City of El Paso about their priorities, concerns, and aspirations for the community. Beginning this month, the City of El Paso Capital Improvement Department is hosting neighborhood workshops to engage residents and bring awareness to the City’s efforts to update the 2012 comprehensive plan.
A comprehensive plan is a long-term framework to realize the vision for El Paso and to manage the city’s growth. Feedback captured at the workshops will guide Envision El Paso, the updated comprehensive plan.
The workshops will include:
· Educational boards explaining what a comprehensive plan is, why it is important, and how residents can stay involved
· A mapping activity to gather ideas for what types of development and projects residents imagine for their neighborhoods
· A discussion board for defining equity and an opportunity to
share their stories about living in El Paso
· Children’s visioning activity to imagine their ideal city.
Workshop Series Schedule
All workshops will run from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

STARBUCKS DISCRIMINATES
,
Need a little help from my friends
On October 27, 2022 I (Bob Kafka) was asked to leave a Starbucks facility in Austin,Texas (15th and San Antonio St). The manager on duty would give no explanation.
After making a Customer Complaint I met on Nov 9, 2022 with the person in charge of that store. She told me it was a mistake. She told me that in May 2022 another person in a wheelchair used profanity and threw a cup at another customer (All people in wheelchairs look alike?)
I asked for a letter of apology on Starbucks letterhead and a formal statement of non discrimination of people with disabilities by Starbucks.
She said only the Starbucks Regional Director Tim Klein could authorize that.
Since November 2022, after numerous emails, phone tags, requests for meeting, City of Austin Human Rights complaint, and one Direct Action Tim Klein refuses even to meet.
