Students attending the morning classes at the Career Center at Riverside High School will report to their home campus at 10:30 A.M. and remain at their home campus. Students attending the afternoon classes at Riverside will attend their normal afternoon schedule.

A new year brought on a new sponsor for our SkillsUSA project Falcon. RockTrix Wheels sent us over a set of their beautiful RT105 wheels in 15x10 with a black finish. Thank you for supporting our project and our students!!

🛑 Real-World Skills: Our Auto Tech Students Master Brake Service! 🚗

We are so proud of the hands-on progress our High School Automotive Technology students are making!

Today, they completed a full brake system overhaul—which is one of the most essential services in auto repair.

Here's what they accomplished:
• ✅ Precision machining of the brake rotors to ensure a perfectly flat surface.
• ✅ Installation of brand new brake pads.
• ✅ The critical final step: flushing and bleeding the brake system to remove all air and old fluid, guaranteeing peak stopping performance and safety.

This isn't just theory—this is real-world diagnostic and repair work that sets them up for successful careers in the skilled trades! Shout out to these future technicians for their dedication and focus.

This is a monumental accomplishment. Passing the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification exam means these students have demonstrated a foundational understanding of key automotive concepts and best practices, straight out of the classroom.

Earning an industry-recognized credential like this so early on gives them a massive advantage as they pursue advanced certifications, continue their education, or step directly into the workforce. This is proof that hard work and hands-on learning pays off!

Thank you Mr. David Wheeler for coming in and talking to our students about fuel consumption calculations to estimate horsepower. And this vehicle has plenty of it! With a little input from Mr. Joe Peña and tuning from Mr. Wheeler, the best number of the day was 799 horsepower and probably much higher due to some torque converter slippage. New shop Dyno record.

They're getting hands-on experience replacing the motor mount, transmission mount, and torque link on this vehicle.
