Beautiful Sunday here in Oklahoma! First church, then trimming the butterfly bushes so they can come back nice and pretty in a few weeks. What’s on your list today?

How I sort through the pile when selecting lumber:

I first look at the end grain and avoid any with the pith (center of tree).

Then I start pulling them out and checking to see if they are bowed or warped.

Last, I'll check to make there's no huge gauges, chips or too many knots.

Some days are good like when they just restocked, other times it's a miss.
