Nearly three years in this fight with cancer.
Beyond pain, fatigue, and treatment side effects, there’s the quieter weight—fear in the night, a changing body, and the emotional strain no one else sees.
Cancer care is not just medical. It’s whole-person care.
My focus is holistic support: helping the body stay strong, supporting recovery capacity, and improving day-to-day quality of life alongside medical treatment.
No miracles. No claims beyond reality. Just steady, grounded support for body, mind, and spirit through the process.

This is my Cancer Nightstand Protocol:

For the Body (comfort + symptom relief):

- Soft blankets (multiple layers) – chemo can swing body temp wildly
- Extra pillows / wedge pillow – helps with nausea and sleeping upright
- Heating pad & cooling packs – for aches, chills, or hot flashes
- Lip balm (thick, not glossy) – chemo dries lips fast
Gentle lotion (unscented) – skin gets sensitive, almost fragile
- Electrolyte drinks or powders – hydration becomes a daily fight
- Water bottle with straw – easier sipping when energy is low
- Ginger chews or peppermint candies – can take the edge off nausea
- Saltine crackers / bland snacks – something simple when appetite flickers
- Soft tissues (lots of them) – nose and eyes run more than expected
- Hand sanitizer / disinfecting wipes – immune system is lowered
- Thermometer – fevers matter more during chemo than usual

For Nausea & Medication:

- Prescribed meds (like Ondansetron / Prochlorperazine) – keep within arm’s reach
- Small pill organizer – brain fog is real, don’t rely on memory
- Notebook or symptom journal – track reactions, timing, side effects
- Pen + sticky notes – quick reminders when energy dips

For Rest & Sleep:

- Eye mask – daytime naps become essential
- Comfortable sleepwear (loose, breathable)
- White noise machine or fan – helps steady restless sleep
-Soft socks / slippers – warmth without effort

For the Mind (this part gets overlooked):

- Books or audiobooks – attention comes and goes, keep options open
- Headphones – for quiet escape
- Tablet/phone + charger within reach
- Photos or meaningful objects – something grounding, something human

Small Things That Carry Weight:

- A favorite scent only if tolerated (chemo can turn smells into enemies)
- A robe that feels like armor
- A note, handwritten—reminding her she’s not walking this alone
- Simple crafts (coloring, knitting, cards) – low-effort engagement. (I myself have a pile of books and a Nintendo switch to push Minecraft.)

For Practical Ease:

- Bedside caddy or organizer – everything within arm’s reach
- Trash bin + emesis bags (I would say a necessity)
- Reusable bag with essentials for appointments
- List of emergency contacts + doctor info

How I feel has no bearing to what needs to be done. By cultivating discipline, you can tap into your inner strength, aligning your actions with core values and aspirations, and unlocking their full potential. This is discipline.
