This Pride Month, we honor the legacy of Pauli Murray, a groundbreaking civil rights activist, legal scholar, poet, and advocate for justice. As the first African American woman to earn a JD from Yale Law School and a co-founder of the National Organization for Women (NOW), Murray’s work helped shape movements for racial and gender equality that continue today.
Did you know Pauli Murray stayed at YWCA Harlem while attending Hunter College? Her leadership and advocacy helped influence the YWCA movement and its ongoing commitment to eliminating racism and empowering women.
This month, we proudly celebrate her life, her courage, and her lasting impact on our society. To learn more about Pauli Murray, visit https://bit.ly/4tPsE8h🏳️🌈🧡
