11 years ago today Coach Makenzi took the floor with our 2015 cheer team, for the first time in school history. On February 7th, we were the very first team of 7 cheerleaders to compete at state and we got 7th place!

I am so glad that you finally found your way back home! Now you and Charlotte are part of this family forever.

Thank you for everything you’ve done for me and the program.

Today, on National Girls & Women in Sports Day, this team deserves to be recognized.

While our season didn’t end the way we hoped, this team proved its strength all year long. We faced more setbacks than most teams ever do—but no matter what was thrown at us, these girls came together and made it work. I have never seen a team handle adversity with the resilience, maturity, and heart like this one did.

We finished the season with a strong performance and walked off the mat proud of who we are and what we overcame. While other teams may have gotten on the bus in tears, these strong girls got on and asked us to work them harder next year. That says everything.

I am beyond proud to have been part of the 2025–2026 St. Edward Cheer Team, and I cannot wait to see what this program continues to accomplish.
