OH, since I shared some of what is going on with self-improvement, I am also taking a course on Artificial Insemination - Fresh and Frozen and Genetics - 3 courses at once, but they all tie in together, lovely. Childhood dream was to be a vet, and although I will never fulfill that dream at this stage in life, I can get pieces that will help me with a long-time passion of breeding quality dogs.

As a dog breeder of 25 years-ish, education is paramount, so I am taking a 200-hr course to help me become a better breeder and a better board member with the Sila Shepard Club of America. I love learning new things, and sometimes I come across profound statements that make me really stop and think.
This here was one of them as I sit at about 3/4 of the way through the training.
"Family breeding results in an extremely limited number of puppies. Unlike commercial breeding, which requires continuous and abundant reproduction to finance a business model and facilities, family breeding produces far fewer dogs.
This directly promotes adoptions. Not everyone seeking a dog from a breeder can get one immediately. With only family breeders, people would have to wait six months or a year for a litter, or go to a shelter. Both options filter out frivolous impulses, preventing someone from getting a dog on a whim.
The small number of dogs from family breeding is incompatible with the overpopulation caused by intensive breeding. It ensures that each puppy can find an optimal home. There is no excess of births, and thus no surplus of dogs."
Never have I thought of it this way. Even old dogs can learn new concepts, lol. Do you agree with Family breeding?

Been a quiet weekend, Andrew goes out to do his chores. He goes and gives his baby girl Nessa a lil loving and rushes back in the house to tell me she has a cut. Welp we are now at an emergency vet and lil Nessa is in surgery
UPDATE: We are all home including our Lil girl. She has her cone and will be in the house for the next 5 days😪 she is hot so now I have to get the ac going. She had stitches and the vet thinks she must of caught it on something. No damage to her outside of the laceration. Praise God. The tube is long as her skin pulled away from the muscle, but she will be good as new come Friday.
***UPDATE*** Nessa got her tube out yesterday, and our vet said she is healing very well, better than most dogs when it comes to how quickly she's healing in that region.
