Our Story

Established in 2017 by owner Matt Lane, Colorado Reserve Wagyu is located on the beautiful Colorado high plains. Matt and his general manager, James Steuter, realized that many people think “Kobe” when thinking about the best beef in the world, failing to realize that Kobe beef is simply Wagyu beef raised under strict requirements in the Kobe region of Japan. They decided to bring Wagyu beef to Colorado, and today, the entire Colorado Reserve Wagyu team is passionate about showing consumers the truth and helping them taste the best beef in the world — straight from the stunning Colorado rangelands.
