Inspired By Life Design

Built this solid spalted beech fireplace mantle for the house. This piece came from a spalted beech tree I rough milled about 8 years ago, and it’s pretty cool to finally bring it back to life.

I hand planed it down to its final dimensions and got it installed, and it fits perfectly with the other furniture pieces I’ve made for the space.

Next step is picking out the stone and finishing up the fireplace. Looking forward to seeing it all come together.

I’ve been wanting to build one of these double pour overs for quite some time. While digging through my wood stock, I came across this incredible piece of Claro black walnut with some amazing figured grain and color. Pieces like this are always fun to work with because the wood really tells the story.
After finishing it up, this one quickly became my favorite pour over I’ve made yet. Sometimes a design just comes together the right way, and this was one of those builds.
Because of that, I think this design will officially be joining the Inspired by Life Design line of handcrafted coffee pour overs.
And the final approval test… the wife approves! ☕🪵
