In 2024, veteran homelessness fell to 32,882. That's a 55% decline in just over a decade!
That happened because of targeted investment, housing-first policy, and programs like HUD-VASH that paired housing vouchers with real support services.
It proves the tools work, and that's encouraging news.
But over 540,000 veterans with "other than honorable" discharges are locked out of VA healthcare, housing assistance, and the GI Bill entirely.
The progress is real, and so is the gap.
