Patriot General Engineering is proud to be a part of the Imperial Irrigation District’s (IID) Avenue 42 Substation Upgrade Project, a critical energy infrastructure investment that represents the first of four major power projects designed to support the continued growth of the City of Indio and the greater Coachella Valley.
-
On January 6, 2026, IID and the City of Indio officially broke ground on the Avenue 42 Substation Project, marking a significant milestone in a forward-looking partnership between IID and the Indio Electric Financing Authority (IEFA), which was formed in 2023. Together, these projects will ultimately provide enough power capacity to energize approximately 16,000 single-family homes, strengthening reliability, redundancy, and long-term energy security for the region.
-
Patriot General Engineering takes great pride in working with organizations like the Imperial Irrigation District, the City of Indio, and Henkels & McCoy West whose leadership and vision are helping to power sustainable growth and economic opportunity throughout the region. We are honored to play a role in infrastructure projects that strengthen communities, support local businesses, and help build a reliable energy future for Southern California.

At Patriot General Engineering, Inc., we’re committed to protecting the safety and well-being of our crews and partners. With this post, we would like to focus on awareness and prevention of Valley Fever, a serious lung infection found in California’s soil.
👷 For construction workers: wet down soil, use enclosed heavy equipment, wear N95s.
🔥 For firefighters: stay upwind, wear respirators, rotate crews.
👉 Recognize symptoms early and get medical care if needed.
