Delicious drinks and snacks!

Feeling livid as I type this post because we have all gone through far too much in the last two years to be having to deal with something so stupid as the videos above. I am really hopeful that this is not part of the “devious lick” tiktok trends happening at the schools.

This evening, at 6:25 pm, these four little BOYS, came into the shop to ask for water. They reached over the counter, stole from us, then proceeded to go outside, throw the water we gave them and slam our chairs onto the table causing damage and disruption. To make matters worse, we had patrons very close by and luckily this act did not harm them. What they stole and their act might be a “little thing” but it’s the principle. Every thing for a small business costs a lot of money but what costs even more is our mental health and the battle to keep going when we deal with setbacks. We constantly deal with various challenges as a small business and this was one more thing we now have to teach our staff to be aware about and deal with. I will be emailing the surrounding middle and high schools just to bring this to their attention but I too know that the schools have their hands full. If you know these boys, are their parents, brothers, sisters, friends, family; please have a conversation to educate them on their choice of actions. They can do better. To my fellow businesses in the surrounding areas, as usual, please be cautious.

We’re very lucky that this doesn’t happen frequently at the shop and we have really amazing customers but when I see this happen from time to time, it’s very disheartening. Tip money is split amongst staff for their hard work and to see this opportunist (who was not mindful of our mask and no outside food rules) mindlessly just steal from them when they saw an amount larger than usual is just unfortunate.

Just a little reminder that
“kindness has no religion, kindness has no politics, kindness is blind to the color of your skin and the nature of your disabilities, kindness cannot be preached, kindness comes from the heart.”

We will continue to move forward with kindness even when minor unfortunate things happen.
