EAST was able to support the with volunteer labor under the skilled guidance of the to help build the South Haddix Connector Trail.

This collaboration is helping us to lean hard into outdoor recreation development and stewardship as an economic and social driver for WV, and we are just getting started.

Urban Trail System, a meaningful partnership between Davis & Elkins College and Elkins Area Shared Trails (E.A.S.T.). This collaboration enhances the quality of life on campus and strengthens outdoor recreation opportunities for both students and the greater Elkins community. The upgraded trails offer beautiful, accessible spaces for hiking, biking, and enjoying the natural beauty that surrounds us in the heart of north central West Virginia. The project stands as a testament to the shared commitment between the College and local organizations to support wellness, outdoor engagement, and community connection.
