Y’all know that Thursdays are my favorite day because I’m lucky enough spend the day at Fannin County Family Connection.

FCFC is not just a food pantry. It’s a place where hope can be restored.

Restoration needs space.

And this evening, we got to leave our mark on the expansion project where an amazing team of people leave their mark on the community.

Jacqueline Mckee, Mandi Hyde, Kala Ballew, Madelyn Queen & John Schickinger and a whole cast of volunteers are the heroes who work so hard, each day, to make an impact in so many lives. I’m honored to spend one day a week, watching them help people.

What a great week!

The first week of June is always full of memories and celebrations. But *this* first week was super busy for Laura and I.

Multiple meetings with business partners and provider officer visits, to help our clients. This vision of transforming the healthcare experience for rural north Georgians is a big task.

Wednesday was a great day with the Fannin Chamber’s Lead Luncheon. Great to see Amber Thomas from House Doctors of North Georgia, Phil Minnes - American Family Insurance Agent and Glenda Reilly with the Chamber.

Thursday is my favorite day of the week, cause we spend it at Fannin County Family Connection helping wherever we can- move food, load cars, hang clothes, answer insurance questions, help apply for food stamps- you know… whatever is needed.

And then the Gilmer Chamber’s ribbon cutting at the Bistro at Roo Mountain Vineyards.

And today, we celebrate our 11th Anniversary!

Navigating the challenges of rural healthcare is still our mission. But as the Director of Family Connections, Jacqueline McKee recently noted- “The beauty of the mountains does a great job of hiding the needs of our most vulnerable”; it’s our responsibility to help support those who need us.
