That’s a wrap on the 98th Texas FFA State Convention! 💙💛
Our chapter officers had an incredible week filled with leadership, learning, laughter, and memories that will last a lifetime. We are so proud of the way they represented Rains FFA throughout the week.
Enjoy a look back at some of our favorite moments from convention!

5TH PLACE AT STATE!!!!
Our Rains FFA Build-Off team consisting of Jason, John Michael, John, and Asher wrapped up their season at the Texas High School Welding Series State Competition in Abilene with a 5th place overall finish, going head-to-head against some of the top teams from across Texas and New Mexico. We are incredibly proud of the hard work, long hours, and determination this team poured into this competition season.
This moment is especially bittersweet as we celebrate our seniors, Jason and John Michael. These two helped set the tone for this team through their leadership, work ethic, and pride in representing our chapter. Their impact reaches far beyond the shop walls, and they will definitely be missed.
Not many people see the early mornings, late nights, stress, problem-solving, and teamwork it takes to compete at this level…but this group showed up and represented Rains FFA, our school, and our community well. 5th in the state is something to be proud of. 💙🛠️🏆
Please join us in congratulating them! Enjoy the photo dump!

When you walk into a state contest with no divisions, you’re lining up against the BEST—1A to 6A, all in one room. And that’s exactly what these teams did.
Cotton: 39th out of 52 teams, with Ansen placing 69th out of 199 and leading our Area.
Wool: Set a goal to be Top Half…finished 28th in the STATE. Chris placed 11th overall out of 232 (tied for 10th—lost on the tiebreaker) and leading our Area.
These kids didn’t flinch. They competed, they represented, and they proved they belong at this level. We’re growing, we’re getting better, and we’re closing the gap…this is just the beginning.
We’d like to give a special shoutout to East Texas A&M, specifically Dr. Maggie Salem for putting on a free workout to all advancing teams from Area 5 & 6. Thank you for opening your doors to help the teams in our areas get better!

Nothing like a send-off to remind you who you’re doing it for. So proud of our teams that are en route to Lubbock…carry that energy with you and go make it count.
Good luck to our track athletes competing at regionals this weekend too. Big things ahead for all of you!
