May is Melanoma Awareness Month 🖤
Melanoma is the deadliest skin cancer, killing over 9,000 Americans every year. The best chance of survival is detecting it early before it has a chance to spread to other parts of your body.

If a mole appears on your skin, the ABCDE rule can help you know whether to see a dermatologist.

Another thing to look for is the “ugly duckling sign.” If the mole looks different from other moles, it is the “ugly duckling” and should be seen by a dermatologist. It is better to have a mole checked than to risk developing skin cancer.

I would highly recommend avoiding melanoma altogether by wearing top-quality broad-spectrum sunscreen every day and reapplying when needed. How do you protect yourself from skin cancer?
