90 days. That's how long Pork had been hiding at the back of his kennel before I met him.

The shelter had labeled him "fractious" - a word they usually save for feral cats. He wouldn't take a treat. Wouldn't be touched. Staff warned me he was nipping, and to be careful. I sat down with him anyway. 💛

For a long time, nothing. He kept turning his face away, like maybe if he didn't look at me, I'd just leave. No microchip. No one looking for him. 90 days, and the world had pretty much forgotten he existed.

And then, something shifted. Not a dramatic moment. Just a small, brave choice on his part to stop being so afraid. From there, the leash came off. The walls came down.

Then came his very first bath in our brand new grooming truck. 🛁 Pork, the dog too scared to be touched - let us wash him, dry him, and trim his nails. Standing tall. Tail relaxed. Like a completely different dog. ❤️
