🚨 ENCINITAS LIBRARY SHUTDOWN: 60 DAYS TO SAVE OUR KIDS' FUTURE 🚨

**I have a $1.5 MILLION solution that costs taxpayers NOTHING - but I need your help to reach city leadership BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!**

Our Encinitas library - the heart of our community's education system - is facing devastating budget cuts that will slash hours, reduce staff, and eliminate critical programs our children rely on.

As a tech entrepreneur who's built multi-million dollar educational platforms, I've developed a revolutionary public-private partnership model that would:
- FULLY FUND our library ($1.5M+ annually)
- EXPAND digital resources for ALL learning styles
- CREATE certified tech education programs for local students
- MAINTAIN every staff position and current hours
- GENERATE sustainable revenue for years to come

**BUT I ONLY HAVE 60 DAYS before the cuts are implemented!**

One 60-minute meeting with the right city leadership could save our library and transform it into an educational innovation center that other communities will envy.

**Can you tag someone who can connect me with Mr. Mayor Elhler or the City Council? Our children's future literally depends on it.**

*(Yes, I know hashtag bombing is marketing cringe 101, but when China has AI in every classroom and I can't even get a response from my local library about its closure... desperate times call for desperate measures! I built a customer service system handling 12,000 unique requests in 90 days with just two staff members and $6,000/month - THOUSANDS of 5-STAR ratings without AI. Imagine what we could do FOR our library WITH today's technology!)*

Here is my response

Local Entrepreneur Pledges 50,000 AI Tutoring Sessions to Encinitas Library: A Public-Private Literacy Revolution Without a Dollar of Taxpayer Money

⸻

By Brad Newman | Encinitas, CA

Let me tell you a story that could reshape how we think about public education, technology, and homelessness in America—starting right here in Encinitas.

I’m not a politician. I’m not a professor. I’m not a bureaucrat.

I’m a tutor.

More specifically, I’m an AI literacy coach and digital transformation mentor who’s worked with thousands of famiBruce Ehlers For Encinitas students across San Diego—and I’m making a public commitment today that could fundamentally upgrade how this city prepares its people for the future.

⸻

The Pledge

If given access to local distribution—signups, basic coordination, and access to library space—I will donate 50,000 in-person AI tutoring sessions to the City of Encinitas.

Not someday. Now.

Each session is 30 minutes.

Each is custom-built for real-world use cases:

•How to get a job
•How to use ChatGPT to write a resume or business pitch
•How to use AI to learn a new skill
•How to tell your story on social media and monetize your voice
•How to understand taxes, parenting, climate policy, mental health
•How to learn to read better, faster, and smarter in a digital world

This is a public-private literacy partnership.

And it won’t cost the city a single cent in funding.

⸻

What’s the catch?

There isn’t one.

I just need:
•Basic access to signup infrastructure (which already exists)
•Local awareness and distribution support (social media + newsletter reach)
•Physical space at the library (like a table in the corner or a community room)
•Maybe a few volunteers or partners who want to teach with me

Everything else—technology, curriculum, research, training, support—is funded by my business and my network of aligned creators, coaches, and entrepreneurs who believe in education as an act of community power.

⸻

Why? Because I’ve been there.

I was once lost, too.

It was literacy that saved me—learning the language of recovery, the vocabulary of emotional healing, the syntax of self-worth.

Then came entrepreneurship.

Then came AI.

I learned how to build a website from my phone.
How to structure a business.
How to help others do the same—from a mom in recovery to a teen looking to break generational cycles to a 55-year-old man learning to read for the first time.

So I made a decision.

Instead of scaling this privately for profit, I’m bringing this to the Encinitas Library—starting with those who are already showing up every day:
•The unhoused
•The overlooked
•The underestimated
•The curious

These are not “homeless people.”

They are neighbors without houses, and more than anything, they need literacy.

Not just reading books.
Reading the system.

Reading job apps.
Reading policy.
Reading people.
Reading contracts.
Reading the terrain of the world we live in now.

⸻

AI can accelerate this like nothing else.

In 30 minutes, I can help someone learn what would take a high school semester to grasp.

In 10 sessions, they walk out with better comprehension than most college grads in their lane.

We use:
•Verified MLA-sourced citations
•Step-by-step AI interfaces (designed for low-literacy and multi-language users)
•Progress scoring on clarity, accuracy, accessibility, and confidence
•Tools that are 100% free to the public

This is how America competes with China. CC: .

This is how cities like Encinitas keep up with exponential change.

This is how we restore dignity without debt.

⸻

A Playbook for Mayor Bruce Ehlers

Mayor, you’ve called for public-private partnerships and a back-to-basics approach.

I respect that—and I want to partner with you directly.

This is the first public-private pledge of its kind in Encinitas.

It requires no taxpayer burden, no zoning reform, no budget battles.

Just political will and community readiness.

Let this become the model for how we fight homelessness not just with beds—but with brains, boldness, and belonging.

⸻

So what’s next?

You show up to one session.
Bring your team.
Meet the learners.
See the results.
See the stories.
Then tell me it’s not working.

We’re not waiting for federal reform.

We’re not asking for handouts.

We’re showing up with solutions—ready to teach, build, and serve.

Just open the door.

Let’s make literacy the foundation of public-private innovation in Encinitas.

And let’s make the Encinitas Library the first AI-powered civic learning center in the country.

📚 LIBRARY BUDGET UPDATE 📚 This morning, the City of San Diego released their proposed FY2026 budget, which includes reducing our library system's operating hours to Tuesday-Saturday only. All 37 branch locations would be closed Sundays and Mondays starting July 1.

While we understand the city faces difficult budget choices, continued cuts to our already underfunded library system threaten essential community services that San Diegans rely on - from early literacy programs to workforce development initiatives.

The Library Foundation SD is advocating for long-term, sustainable funding solutions that will allow our libraries to remain open seven days a week. Our communities deserve nothing less.

Click the link to read our full response and join us in advocating for the cornerstone institutions that make San Diego stronger. Together, we can ensure libraries receive the funding they deserve!
