Last night was one of the most amazing NBA Finals games I have ever seen.

When San Antonio went up by 29 points over the Knicks, I sat there wondering how this could be happening. After winning both games in San Antonio, the thought of the Knicks losing both games at home was pretty tough to take.

Then the improbable started to happen.

By the end of the third quarter, the Knicks had cut the deficit to 15 points. Early in the fourth quarter, they were still down by 20 with about nine minutes left, but the comeback was underway.

The Knicks kept chipping away at the lead. Possession by possession, basket by basket, they fought their way back into the game.

They finally took their first lead of the night when Jalen Brunson scored with about 1:20 remaining.

San Antonio answered and regained the lead.

Sitting on the edge of my couch, I wondered if the Knicks could actually pull off the unthinkable, come back from the largest deficit in NBA Finals history to win, or battle all the way back only to lose at the very end.

With about 12 seconds left, Brunson missed a shot and De’Aaron Fox grabbed the rebound. As Fox went in for what looked like a game clinching layup, OG Anunoby sprinted the length of the court and blocked the shot.

You could feel the tension on the floor as both teams battled back and forth.

The Knicks got the ball back with about seven seconds remaining.

Anunoby inbounded to Brunson, who was defended by Wembanyama and missed his shot.

Then, out of nowhere, OG Anunoby sliced down the middle and tipped the ball in for a one point lead with just 1.2 seconds left.

San Antonio still had one final chance.

Thankfully, they couldn’t convert.

The Knicks completed what turned out to be the largest comeback in an NBA Finals game, overcoming a 29 point deficit to win.

Just amazing.

Now the Knicks are one win away from their first championship in 53 years.

Is it over? Not even close.

San Antonio is a great team and they’ll come out Saturday night ready to give everything they have.

This has been a fantastic series, and I can’t wait for the next game.
