Our Story
ETM specializes in solar energy systems, but we didn’t always! The “ETM” in ETM Solar Works stands for extraterrestrial materials. In 1988, when ETM was founded by Dr. Gay Canough, we were actually doing aerospace consulting work. Our main claim to fame in space business was the conceptual design of the Lunar Prospector, a small robotic spacecraft that orbited the moon from 1998-1999 looking for water at the lunar poles. We also worked on space solar power for NASA and the Space Studies Institute in Princeton.
In 1993, we decided to start bringing solar power to as many people as possible. Since then, we’ve installed over 2 megawatts of solar panels in New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. That’s enough to power 2000 homes!
