What happened to us?

America, land of the free, home of the brave. Where you’re free to pursue the American dream. Where the statue of Liberty awaits with the inscription: "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore.”

Ours is a country that led the planet in science, technology, industry, and innovation. Founded on the proposition that all men are created equal, born free with the right to pursue happiness as far as their initiative, determination and sweat would take them. We fought for the cause of liberty around the world and dethroned despots, banished dictators, ripped apart the iron curtain and freed a whole continent of fascism.

Yes, we did unspeakable things, but those who believed in the American idea strived to be better.
Today, hatred, bigotry and propaganda have crippled our integrity as a country. America’s adversaries hope we fail, and sadly 75% of the GOP feel the same way. It's sick, pathological, and just plain sad.

Republicans chose to blindly follow a mentally disturbed pathological lying criminal, molester and bully. Fascist media outlets and billionaire donors promote false, unsubstantiated BS to control his depraved cult, using their blind loyalty to gain power and change laws that benefit themselves.

Republicans are deliberately sabotaging our Democratic ideals of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. They preach law and order and Christian values, but don’t practice what they preach. MAGA terrorists invaded our Capitol to kill elected officials and overturn our government. All over America, MAGA maniacs are attacking and threatening innocent people. It isn’t just that they’re gullible—they spew hatred and despise anyone who defies their own personal Jesus.

Perhaps they share developmental wounds that make a leader/follower relationship magnetically attractive. The leader, hungry for adulation to compensate for an inner void of self-worth, projects grandiose omnipotence—while the followers, rendered needy by societal stress or early parental damage. So they yearn for an authoritarian parental figure.

Love your children and teach them to be better than you are. Teach them right & wrong, kindness, tolerance & acceptance of others who appear different. Just as Jesus did.

Perhaps then we can save our country & Democracy.
