This is the life of a gardener in Colorado!

We know how badly the moisture is needed, but we also worry so much about the damage a storm like this can cause to our plants and in particular our trees.

Most shrubs and perennials will be OK, the snow is more likely to cause a bit of leaf damage than it is to cause breakage. Cover what you can, if you’re able.

More importantly, pay attention to heavy snow loads on trees. Go out periodically to gently knock the snow off.  It’s better to do it preventatively rather than waiting to really see branches weighed down. 

Once again, Colorado is reminding us that she is in control, but next week there will be a significant change in how green the farm fields, lawns and native grass areas look!

Second Spring? Spring of Deception? False Summer?

Well, whatever it is, we're here for it and officially opening on Saturday May 2nd, at 9am.

We still have lots of things that are growing and not quite ready, but the things that are ready are looking beautiful!
