Today’s Senior Spotlight is on Kobe Schindler (now a recent graduate of Erie High!). Kobe has been a Gilmore Voice Studio student since 2022. He has spent 9 years in choir and 4 years in theatre. He earned All State honors in multiple categories—All State Tenor/Bass Jazz Choir 2025, All State Mixed Jazz Choir 2026, All State Tenor/Bass Choir 2025, and All State Mixed Choir 2026—while taking on leadership roles as 5130 Choir President and Choir Bass Section Leader. His dedication is reflected in the numerous recognitions he has received, including the CR5 Most Valuable Musician Award, 5130 Director’s Award, and 5130 Most Improved Award. He is also a TRI-M Member, underscoring his commitment to excellence in music education. In theater, Kobe performed several leading roles in shows, including Alice By Heart, Nunsense Amen, and My Fair Lady.
Kobe’s perspective on music: “Music and singing are a core part of who I am, giving me a way to express emotions, connect with others, and pursue something I love. Singing has taught me skills of determination, vulnerability, and greater awareness of myself both mentally and physically. Music has shaped my life by giving me an outlet and a passion that can be shared universally, breaking language and cultural barriers.” This is his advice to younger singers: “Patience and dedication are crucial to growth in any setting, whether that’s musical or emotional growth.” Kobe will be attending CU Boulder to major in Music Education, continuing his journey to inspire and educate the next generation of musicians. Good luck, Kobe!
