I tried to think and pray
The storm away
But alas the torrents came.
So perhaps it's time
For a different rhyme
Or else all will stay the same.
So as for me
No more bended knee
Because something has to change.
Perhaps now I'll act
Do something, in fact
My, wouldn't that be strange!
So rather than these thoughts and prayers
Or other easy wares
I'll answer Nature's call.
Because the best refrain
From feeling pain
Is not to fall at all.
So now I'll stand
But I'm just one man
In a crowd talking to the sky.
When the mountains fall
Or the crazies maul
The clouds won't tell us why.

I wrote this while on a hike...
Some say this is a lonely place
Where many I know don't come
But for me it is a sacred space
It's the place where I am from.
Some say this to s a scary place
Where they will not dare to go
Yet for me I find there's so much grace
In ways they'll never know.
This spot on which I find my sight
Is a place most never see
For they close their eyes and fear the night
Yet it's the night that sets them free.
So seek the cloudless, lightless night
And find the silence in your mind
Let the stars above shine as bright
As the Sun they've left behind.
For it's not the darkness we should fear
Nor the daylight, nor its end
Rather it's living lies when the truth is near
No matter where or when.
So one day when time is no more
When the chance is dead and gone
Regret again as you've done before
Just before the dawn.
