Today is Patriots day. I could insert a little quibble about being a Patriots fan blahs blahs blahs, but today is a day that 20 years ago changed the way we as Americans saw our country. It was the first time we were fearful of our future, and in that fear we rose up and came together as one to fight off that fear, and to respond with love and kindness to each other. We all experienced a shot to the heart, whether on the east coast or the west coast. Whether you knew someone affected, or not, it made us think. It made us react with a little more love towards our fellow Americans. Now with all the political separation, and the "at your throat" mentality the news pushes on our lives we may have lost touch with that moment in time, that horrendous day of death and destruction. We may be forgetting that unified heart we all had. Religion didn't matter, political party didn't matter, our jobs didn't matter, what mattered was we were Americans! Today is a day to come together and remember that day. With respect, and honor for those who were tragically lost, and continued to those that have picked up arms and fight for our continued freedoms and protection. For those who serve us locally as police and firefighters. We honor and respect them as we remember... we ... are... Americans! Never forget...
