A recent report by the Oregon Journalism Project highlights Eastern Oregon University as the top public university in Oregon for preparing educators in the science of reading. EOU earned an “A” from the National Council on Teacher Quality, the only public institution in the state to receive the top grade.

“We have worked hard over the last few years to ensure that our teacher candidates gain the knowledge and skills they need to be successful,” said Ronda Fritz, Ed.D., professor of education at Eastern Oregon University.

EOU graduates serve classrooms across the state, especially in rural communities where well-prepared educators make a lasting difference.
