To our incredible community of supporters, volunteers, and especially our divers —
Thank you for making the 2025 Dive for a Cure event an unforgettable and impactful success. Every year, we are reminded that this mission is bigger than any one of us — and this year, your dedication, energy, and generosity took it to new depths.
To our divers: You are the heart and soul of this event. Whether you dove for someone you love, someone you've lost, or simply for the cause, your efforts make a difference to all those affected by breast cancer. We could not do this without you.
To our volunteers, sponsors, donors, and supporters: Thank you for showing up in every way — giving your time, resources, and enthusiasm to help us push forward in our mission. Because of you, we continue to raise critical funds for cancer research, support families in need, and honor those we’ve lost with action and hope.
Together, we dove with purpose, with heart, and with an unshakeable sense of dive community. And together, we are making a difference.
With deep gratitude,
Eugene Skin Divers Supply and Dive for a Cure
Our July local dive will be at Blue River Reservoir on Saturday July 12 about an hour up the McKenzie from Eugene. Ed is coordinating this one. Ed hosted this last year, and it was a lot of fun. It's a pretty easy in and out with some depth if you want that. And a nice wall since it's a drowned river.
We'll plan on meeting at 10am at the parking lot by the dam to get organized. Turn left off 126 on Blue River Drive to Blue River Rd to Lucky Boy Rd. It's not too far off the highway. Here are some directions Ed worked up.
Dive Blue River Viewpoint -126 to 1st Blue river exit. Blue River Drive to Blue River
Reservoir road. Go left before town and before bridge take left on River Street (125). After 1 to 1/12 miles it forks - stay left to parking area 2 miles
If you're interested in joining us, let us know at [email protected] and [email protected] so we can figure out lunch!
Hope to see you there.

Join us next Tuesday May 6 at Dickie Jo's by VRC for our monthly meeting. We have the room from 6-8p and the meeting starts about 630p. Come early for food, drink and good conversation!
Ed is hosting a video by renowned cinematographer Jonathon Bird about sharks at Flagpole, along with some cool wolf eel and octo videos from his recent trips. There is some great footage.
And Rick's tips are back!
Hope to see you there!
Join us Saturday April 19 for our monthly local dive. We'll be diving at the Woahink training site by the first bridge. The shop tells me they don't have anything scheduled Saturday. The weather should be pretty nice.
Plan on meeting at 10am. No need to have a buddy. We'll figure that out.
We'll provide lunch. If you want to bring some cookies for dessert that'd be great.
If you're interested in coming along, please drop me a note at [email protected] so we have a headcount for lunch, and I can give you dive details. I need to know folks are coming or the dive may be rescheduled.
Hope to see you then.
Jim
