“Decolonizing Our Youth,” directed by Barbara Dumigan-Jackson & Lyndon Suntgens
Gifted storytellers in Edmonton, Alberta, share traditional land, culture, and language as collective knowledge for future generations.
“Igloolik: A Real Tale,” directed by Miquel Ardèvol Verdiell
Inuit people have lived in the Arctic for thousands of years. In this documentary, review their history, culture, and how they are living nowadays. This work recounts the ways in which the Canadian Government started to control Inuit society sixty years ago, how they negotiated a Land Claim Agreement for the Nunavut Region, and how the Inuit people have held onto their language and culture up to the present day.
