Cascades Raptor Center

The Cascades Raptor Center prioritizes re-uniting healthy young with their families. Recently, we have had an influx of displaced nestlings. They come into treatment after being displaced from their nests, and if uninjured.. we get them home as soon as possible!

American Kestrels are just one of the species we have been re-nesting. They live in cavities - even man-made cavities! We can install nest boxes, or ideally find the cavities they came from. Sometimes they nest in a small gap in the roof, or an entrance way up high. Cavities can be difficult to find, but we always try! We ensure they are well fed before reuniting with the family, and monitor to make sure the parents are nearby. Being back home with their wild parents is the best outcome! So far this year, we have successfully re-united 7 American Kestrels!
