July is National Alpaca Fleece Month, and we are celebrating the natural fiber that connects alpaca care, creativity, and community.

Alpaca fleece is valued around the world for its softness, fineness, lightweight feel, durability, thermal qualities, and natural luster. Each alpaca produces about 5 to 10 pounds of fleece each year, which can be turned into yarn, apparel, blankets, tapestries, and more.

Alpaca fleece also comes in 16 official natural colors, including white, beige, fawn, brown, black, and grey, with many beautiful shades in between. It contains no lanolin and is therefore ready to spin after only nominal cleaning.

From farm stores and online shops to farmers' markets and craft fairs, alpaca fleece also helps alpaca owners share the value of this remarkable natural fiber with their communities.

They will be making their debut therapy visit at the Portland International Airport THIS FRIDAY, from noon until 1:30pm in front of the Rental Car Center.
