Lane Community College

It's day one of the Design Educators Summit at Lane Community College! Led by Tom Madison (graphic design instructor at LCC) and Kate Doyle (graphic design instructor at the Center for Applied Learning and Community Impact (CALCI) in Eugene), this four-day conference gives high school instructors hands-on learning of new tools and innovative methods for teaching CTE art skills.

We just finished up MedSplash, our summer camp where high schoolers get hands on with career technical education (CTE).

Activities included: forensics with Jeanne McLaughlin, ultrasound with a local PA, a tour with Goshen fire and rescue and McKenzie-Willamette Hospital (they loved the helipad), physical therapy activities, x-rays with dental instructors, and suturing with medical assisting.

Shout out to Lane Education Service District for this ongoing partnership.

Lane SBDC staff attended the Florence Oregon Coast Siuslaw Awards last week. Congratulations to all award winners and partner organizations supporting one another in economic development for Lane County.
