As Brandon Wilde continues celebrating America's 250th anniversary, we were honored to recognize one of our own hometown heroes, Willis "Buster" Boshears Jr., with a Quilts of Valor Foundation presentation.

A decorated Vietnam veteran, Buster flew 114 combat missions as an F-105 pilot and dedicated his life to aviation. His remarkable career began early—making his first logbook entry at just six years old—and later led to his induction into the Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame, joining his father and uncle in this distinguished honor.

Beyond his military service, Buster helped shape aviation in the Augusta area through decades of leadership at Daniel Field and Augusta Aviation, leaving a lasting impact on our community.
