Big news! Chicago Ballet Arts is now a sponsor of a Secondary and Junior Chapter of the National Honor Society for Dance Arts (NHSDA)! This recognition from the National Dance Education Organization - NDEO honors students’ outstanding artistic merit, leadership, and academic achievement and celebrates the dedication they bring to their training every single day.

We’re so proud to give our dancers this opportunity to be recognized on a national level for their hard work, commitment, and passion for their art. Stay tuned for details!

Today’s the day! We’ve been hard at work preparing for our first community event of the summer, Main Street Fair - Evanston, IL! Come visit our booth in the Eiden Park Youth & Teen Area or stop by the Kids’ Stage at 2:30 pm and 4 pm to cheer on our students. Hope to see you there!

Catch us if you can next Saturday, June 27 at the Main Street Fair - Evanston, IL! We’ll be performing at the Kids’ Stage at 2:30 pm and 4 pm and will have a booth in the Eiden Park Youth & Teen Zone from 11-4:30 pm. Stop by to see us but be sure to run if a certain Big Bad Wolf shows up.

✨ Faculty Friday Spotlight: Mai Claypool ✨

Class with Mai is always filled with encouragement, humor, and hard work! Her training spans the globe - from Kishi Ballet Studio and the prestigious Matsuyama Ballet School in Tokyo, to the Joffrey Ballet School and Steps on Broadway in NYC. Mai has performed with the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Florida Dance Theatre, Metropolitan Ballet, and recently took the stage as the Queen in her CBA debut. She has earned recognition through competitions including the Hope Award and Achievement of Excellence.

Mai infuses her passion for dance into her teaching. She has taught at schools across New York, Illinois, Florida, and Japan, including at the Joffrey Academy of Dance and Roosevelt University. Mai is an American Ballet Theatre® Certified Teacher, certified through Level 7 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.
