The Longevity Thief - Auditing the Friction in Your Life 02/25/2026

Is a 1.5 Percent Life Tax being taken from your DNA?

James and I have spent over thirty years studying what makes people truly vibrant, and the latest science is finally catching up to what we see in our practice every day. A new study from 2026 shows that difficult people in your life don't just ruin your mood; they actually speed up your biological aging.

Each person who causes you chronic stress is estimated to take a 1.5 percent annual penalty on your biological clock. We call this the Longevity Heist.

When you are around someone who makes you clench your jaw or hold your breath, your mitochondria go into a defensive shell. This is why you feel so exhausted after a difficult lunch or a tense phone call. Your body is choosing survival over repair.

On the Love and Life Elevated podcast today, we are sharing the Bio-Social Audit to help you stop the theft. We talk about the Rouse 2-Hour Rule and how to use simple tools like cold water resets and strategic solitude to turn your biological dimmer switch back up.

You deserve to live a life that is high-vibration and energy-rich.

After a brutal election season, many may feel disheartened by the outcome. In today’s Love & Life Elevated episode, Dr. James and I offer a moment to pause and reconnect with what’s within our control. Even when events outside us don’t unfold as hoped, we have the power to ground ourselves, respond with compassion, and focus on what we can do to make a positive impact. Let’s take this time together to find strength and peace

I received the most unexpected, beautiful message today. It moved me to tears and I am called to share it with you here. Many of you know that during Covid I was out for an afternoon walk when I came upon an unconscious man who had obviously collapsed on the paved walking trail. He was face down with some blood coming from his mouth and when I felt for a pulse, he did not have one. I quickly and carefully repositioned him and began CPR immediately. Paramedics came onto the scene perhaps three to four minutes into my efforts. After defibrillation (shocking him) a few times, they were able to obtain a weak pulse as they loaded him into the ambulance - but I didn't know until about a month later that he had survived. I did not realize that today marked the 4-year anniversary of that remarkable day. To receive this email today brought me to happy tears. Twenty-nine years ago, my dad died of sudden cardiac death and I have always wondered what may have happened if he had received CPR immediately. CPR training is readily available for all of us. If you're not certified, I highly encourage you to put it on the top of your "to do" list. Here's the message that I received:
Dr. Rouse,

On this day, which is the 4 year anniversary of my cardiac arrest in Buchanan Park, I wanted to express my gratitude to you for performing CPR on me that day and saving my life. Though I have no recollection of that day and the events that took place, I know that I would not still be here today without your efforts.

Rehabilitation was difficult for me but I eventually reached a reasonably good level of physical fitness. I run almost every day in Buchanan and Bergen parks, albeit not as fast as I did before the cardiac arrest, but I am very happy to still be running. I enjoy living in Evergreen, traveling around Colorado and visiting all of its scenic places. I am still working full time, but I hope to retire sometime soon.

I want to wish you all the best for a great end to this year and a Happy Holiday Season !! And Thank You once again for all of your efforts on October 29th, 2020.
