Recital season, senior and graduation season, dance costume portraits, having 2 graduates myself, running a business, trying to be a good mom, wife and friend, being in the moment of so many lasts and trying to be kind to myself during all of that.
Sometimes we get so busy with life that we forget to look back where we came from. I don’t celebrate me often enough, I take selfies when I work sometimes, not to be in the photo but to capture the memory of that moment, to look back and see how much people are in my life that make me happy, that I miss, that were there for special moments.
This song has been on my timeline a few times and I tear up every time I hear it.
I randomly took photos from my camera roll to share, but the message is for me. Take the time to stop and take that photo, be present in the moment, celebrate your successes, don’t let the workload of the day crush your special memories and for everyone that I have worked with over the past few months that has been patient with me when it took a little longer to receive your gallery, reply to a text or email or a friend I have not talked to in forever, please know that I appreciate you so much and am so grateful for you🧡
This weekend we have our Delawareness weekend. The last one with my dancers in it. I remember when Mr Todd asked .db to be part of BAU. He said: I have this showcase called Delawareness, come see if you like the vibe and you can join BAU next year. That was 10 years ago.🥹
If you see me this weekend and I look like a hot mess, that is why😂 if you want to capture a memory and take a selfie with me, PLEASE DO! I am probably busy, but stop me to do it anyway! let’s celebrate!!

10 years as a volunteer photographer with
I will always remember all the little babies I photographed over the past 10 years. I will think of their mothers on Mother’s Day and their fathers on Father’s Day. I’ll remember our sessions, our conversations and holding your baby, creating portraits that you might never want to see or look at daily.
I’m not sharing this for recognition but to spread awareness about bereavement photography and the free services NILMDTS offers.
You can find more information about this on the volunteer pages of my website or on the NILMDTS website or social media.
To all the families I had the honor to serve over the years, thank you for trusting me to capture your baby and your family in the most difficult time of your lives.
To all the nurses, social workers and friends who recommended NIlMDTS to their patients or loved ones, we can only do this because of you and this gold star is yours as well!
Thank you to Russ and (in loving memory of) Tim for recruiting me as a NiLmDTS Photographer.
For Tess, who I had the honor of meeting at a very early stage of her life, I wish I would have known about these portraits then, so your mom would have them now🫶🏽
