Why Putting Family First Might Be Hurting Your Family

These passages bring out one right priority, and it's not plural.

We thought it was priorities, but it needs to be singular: Jesus has to be the sole priority of our lives.

So our priorities have to be right, when it comes to Jesus and when it comes to life.

Now some people hear that and panic, like it means abandoning the kids to go serve at church.

But putting Jesus first doesn't mean neglecting our families. It means the priority within our families should be Jesus Himself.

And here's what we believe: the more Christ is the priority of our lives, the better mother, the better father we become.

The more we follow Him, the better son, daughter, brother, and sister we become too.

So we have to put Jesus first in all things, refusing to become attached to the things of this world, including even the people of this world.
